Drilcorp pass audit for OHSAS 18001

OHSAS 18001 is a framework for an occupational health and safety (ohs) management system and is a part of the OHSAS 18000 (sometimes incorrectly identified as ISO 18000) series of standards, along with OHSAS 18002. It can help you put in place the policies, procedures and controls needed for your organization to achieve the best possible working conditions and workplace health and safety, aligned to internationally recognized best practice.

During May, Drilcorp passed the site based part of the audit, thanks to the excellent set-up of our operations at Highland Spring in Perthshire. A 2-day audit of our Management Systems was then completed at our headquarters in Hawthorn.

The audits were carried out by Alcumus ISOQAR, who had no hesitation in assessing Drilcorp to be compliant in the requirements of this much sought after certification.

Drilcorp QEST Manager, David Hastings, was full of praise for the many Drilcorp employees who had contributed to this fine achievement;

“There has been a great deal of work carried out by many of our staff here at Drilcorp, and I would personally like to express my gratitude to everyone for their efforts and continued focus. Maintaining a positive Health & Safety culture, can only be attained with the professionalism of the workforce, and support of Senior Management. Achieving the standard of OHSAS 18001 is a fantastic achievement for Drilcorp, and will be instrumental in guaranteeing our arrangements for Health & Safety, to potential customers. It is a huge sense of pride that our small company has now successfully gained certification in ‘The Big 3’ – OHSAS 18001, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001”.
